Hi everyone! As an Event Organiser for VegfestUK and now part of the Why Go Vegan team, I wanted to share why this campaign holds such a deeply personal significance for me. We all come to veganism for different reasons, but for me, it’s been a journey rooted in a profound connection to animals from a very young age.
My vegan journey began when I was just sixteen, after a brief time as a vegetarian. I remember a moment at school when my headmaster announced that the pigs from our farm would soon be bacon. It broke my heart. This early experience ignited a deep, visceral pain regarding animal suffering that has stayed with me. While I may not be able to explain the full depth of this connection in words that everyone will understand, it has always been a fundamental part of who I am. What started as a commitment purely for the animals has, over time, transformed my own life, leading to a profound development of empathy, improved health, and a clear sense of purpose.
This is precisely why the Why Go Vegan 30-Day Challenge resonates so powerfully with me. As far as I know, it’s the only initiative that brings together the vast and crucial philosophy of veganism into small, manageable, and digestible daily content. For too long, veganism has often been seen solely as a diet, rather than the expansive ethical philosophy and way of life that it truly is. Our 30-day challenge brilliantly fills this gap, offering a broad spectrum of information that I believe everyone needs to know. From the realities of what happens to animals, to how veganism impacts human rights, to its potential for a healthier nation, and its influence on self-transformation – it covers almost everything! This comprehensive, easy-to-understand approach means that every participant is likely to find at least one area that deeply connects with them. I cannot stress enough how vital this information is, and I am truly honored to be a part of creating it.
My role, working closely with our founder Tim, is to help edit and bring this incredible content to life for the 30-day challenge. My greatest hope is that Why Go Vegan will grow to deliver this life-changing information globally, reaching people in schools, universities, and every corner of the world. I envision our message resonating so deeply that it inspires individuals to make lasting lifestyle changes, and for those who may have tried veganism before, to reconnect with their original motivations and embark on this incredibly rewarding journey once more. This campaign is not just about changing diets; it’s about fostering a more compassionate, just, and sustainable world for all.
