Why Go Vegan Challenge and Show Launches This Summer

New 30 Day Challenge and Food Fest to help people learn more about veganism and plant based lifestyles

A new 30-day vegan challenge has launched to help people understand more about veganism and the benefits of plant-based lifestyles, with a new free food festival alongside, to encourage more people to engage with going vegan. The Why Go Vegan 30-Day Challenge includes a series of 30 emails each day full of information about the many reasons people choose to go vegan and adopt a plant-based lifestyle and is free to sign up for from the website www.whygovegan.org.uk.  Each day includes a short 5-minute presentation about a different topic connected with veganism, before a short uplifting and inspirational interview with a leading member of the UK vegan community, including actor Peter Egan, presenter Wendy Turner – Webster, musician Nathan King (Level 42) & celebrity chef Charlotte Roy, as well as a handy toolkit full of information about how to go vegan.

‘The 30 Day challenge is very much food for thought, and includes a look at a very broad array of topics, including food sovereignty, the animal rights position, ethics and morals, vegan values, optimal health and holistic veganism and is particularly helpful for people who are plant based curious, maybe vegetarian or pescatarian, or someone who did Veganuary a while back but didn’t stay vegan afterwards. The challenge takes a fresh look at a variety of topics and is relaxed, informative and upbeat and really suited to a broad section of society. Even people already vegan will benefit from the challenge’.

The new Plant Based Food Fest run by Why Go Vegan takes place at The Kia Oval in London and is free to attend (with advance ticket) and is designed to complement the 30-day challenge and the overall remit of this new Community Interest Company, formed earlier this year. ‘The original remit of Why Go Vegan is to help people access not only quality vegan education online but also in person – and the Plant Based Food Fest in London on October 11th is designed to do just that. An abundance of vegan food, with 2 talks rooms (Healthy Lifestyle & Ethical Lifestyle) and a host of individuals with expertise in plant-based living delivering a series of short talks and presentations centered around people new to veganism makes this the ideal complement to the 30-day challenge.’

The new website www.whygovegan.org.uk also hosts a UK vegan events and markets diary with listings for regional events across the UK, and a directory for vegan businesses, campaign groups and sanctuaries as well as vegan authors, artistes, musicians, comedians and performing & visual artists, encouraging people new to veganism to get involved with their local communities and activities. ‘Why Go Vegan provides free vegan educational tools, creates free vegan events to help attract more people to the movement, & encourages more community engagement. The 30 day challenge, the plant based food fests and the community website help us achieve all 3.’

‘The Why Go Vegan 30-day challenge, the food fests & the community website all reflect the abundance of vitality and inspiration from within the vegan community, and the interviews especially with our special guests are all really moving and very dynamic. Be prepared to be uplifted and informed in an age of misinformation and confusion. The UK vegan community serves as a beacon of light and a clear direction forward for a solutions-based approach to a multitude of challenges we face together as a society.’
