The 30 Day Challenge – What Happens When I Sign up?
Over the next 30 days you’ll receive a daily email with a different topic featured, each with a short (under 5 minutes) presentation from myself, followed by a short interview with one of our special guests from within the UK vegan community, and in addition there’s some relevant further reading and viewing (with the emphasis on magazine articles and short Youtube presentations), a brief favourite product focus from one of our guests or presenters, an inspirational meme of the day, and a daily Toolkit containing further resources to help you with any ‘how to’ go vegan requirements you may need.
What is the challenge?
The challenge is to live a plant based lifestyle for the duration of the challenge, & to challenge yourself for 30 days to complete the Why Go Vegan 30 Day challenge, engage fully with the content and learn about the many facets of veganism and the benefits of plant based lifestyles, an introduction to the broader vegan community, and a thorough understanding of why we should consider going vegan and becoming a part of the vegan community. Of course, we hope you choose to stay vegan after the challenge and there will be plenty of resources and inspirational content to help you achieve that, but that’s up to yourself. There won’t be any scary images or shock horror scare stories, all the content is free and there’s an underlying respect for you as an individual with your own ideas, experiences and opinions, and the goal of the challenge is to help ensure a deeper understanding of veganism and the benefits of plant based lifestyles, making informed lifestyle choices that align with shared values – the rest is up to you.
What does the 30-day challenge consist of?
The Why Go Vegan 30 Day challenge focuses mainly on the ‘why go vegan’ aspects rather than the ‘how to go vegan’ areas, with plenty of food for thought over the 30 days. The challenge includes a history of vegan philosophy and the growth of plant-based lifestyles, what’s happening to animals, the animal rights position, the definition and real meaning of veganism, the many benefits of plant-based lifestyles for health, environment and sustainable global food supply, vegan values, food justice, intersectional veganism, holistic veganism, welfare washing and the welfare myth, morals and ethics, self transformation and spiritual veganism, society transformation and an introduction to some of the many facets of the modern day vegan movement – ending with answering the question that some of us may have asked – and that is ‘why bother going vegan’? The Why Go Vegan 30-day challenge aims to answer this very effectively.
Meanwhile the ‘how to’s’ are well covered with some terrific free resources available, and each day the emails will contain a handy toolkit with some links to some of the very best resources for recipes, food swaps, eating out as a vegan, travelling abroad, recognising vegan products, basic nutritional information and a whole host of other useful supportive information to help in the transitional period to going and staying vegan.
